- WILHELM SCREAM: Heard from the person on the skateboard, just after Bartleby samples one of Glen's "wads".
- Lewis Black's character says the word "fuck" twice, but one was literally bleeped out in order to make the movie PG-13.
- There are 39 shots of Apple Computers in the movie. The star, Justin Long, became a spokesman for Apple Computers (the "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" commercials) just prior to the release of this movie.
- Most of the movie was improvised, and a lot of the gags were pitched by the actors on the day of shooting.
- The skateboarder who jumps into the pool behind the motorcycle is professional skateboarder Chad Fernandez.
- Adam Huffington's actual parents were on hand during the "Parent's Day Scene," and were placed in the film as Glen's parents.
- During the hot dog costume scene, Schrader mentions how James Garfield even wore the suit, though not a member of the fictional BKE fraternity in the movie James Garfield was in fact a member of the Delta Upsilon International Fraternity
- The red fruits that Glen screamed, "What are you!" at are rambutans, a kind of tropical fruit.
- As part of the promotion for the movie at the Comiccon in San Diego, promoters threw a huge "Welcome" party open to the public, with barbeque, beer, skateboarding demos, and a wall where people could write "subjects" they'd like to study. Justin Long and other cast members mixed in with the crowd, to the point that you couldn't pick them out.
- Since the school/college's name is "South Harmon Institute of Technology (S.H.I.T.), the "S-word" is the most frequently used word, being used 62 times throughout the entire movie.
