Serena van der Woodsen: beautiful, glamorous, elegant young woman about town; fashionable and firm but fair ruler of Manhattan’s young social elite; wooer of hearts and slayer of men with names like Trip van der Bilt; tabloid magnet and off-and-on dater of her off-and-on step-brother-and nothing even remotely like Blake Lively. For three seasons, Lively-owner of the most talked-about hair in television since the heady days of the early-Friends Jennifer Aniston shag-has played van der Woodsen on the CW’s hit series Gossip Girl, guiding her through myriad breakups, scandals, falls from grace, and spirited comebacks amidst the show’s hyperreal vision of misspent youth in uptown New York. Now as the series enters its fourth season, the plot for Serena has begun to further thicken. Will she return from her summer vacation in Paris as a new woman, or out to settle old scores? Will she get back together with Dan? Will Nate come calling once again? What will she wear? But just as the arc of Serena’s sordid life on Gossip Girl has brought about new priorities, changes, and directions, so too has the trajectory of Lively’s career away from the show signaled a shift in direction for the 23-year-old actress.
Blake Lively and Scarlett Johansson are battling it out for the chance to star in Gravity.
A film about astronauts repairing the Hubble telescope who are hit with an avalanche of satellite junk. In a plot akin to “Cast Away,” the surviving astronaut must fight her way back to Earth, where she hopes to reunite with her daughter.
The project originally was set up at Universal as a vehicle for Angelina Jolie, but it moved to Warners, where it hit debris of its own: Jolie left the project, partially because of the studio’s balking at paying her £10 million fee.
Both actresses are repped by CAA. Blake is also is repped by Untitled Entertainment.

I want to apologize for the lack of updates for several months. Truth of the matter was I really lost interest here because I currently do not like the direction with Gossip Girl and there wasn’t much going on keeping my interest. However, after a little break, I feel refreshed and excited to update now that the show is off for the season and there is new things happening with Blake, so I hope this will last! I will try and make my way around to getting the site back up to date with Gossip Girl but it will be a gradual process since I really find the episodes quite boring these days. If anyone would like to help out capping them please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
For starters, screencaps of Blake’s very brief scene in New York, I Love You have been added. Her scene was shared with Anton Yelchin and Olivia Thirlby and was actually quite funny. She looks stunning in that red dress too!
I can’t quite recall the disquieting moment when I realized that they were, in fact, all around me. I knew that Cameron Diaz broke her nose doing it and was unsurprised to discover that Stefano Pilati is very, very good at it. I was amazed to hear that my friend Holly Peterson travels to the ends of the Earth in pursuit of it and that Cynthia Rowley fashions clothing expressly for it. I knew that Damien Hirst’s partner, Maia, is gaga for it but that he’d rather just watch, and I was frankly dumbfounded that both Barneys’ gnomish Simon Doonan and Vanity Fair‘s Falstaffian Graydon Carter each had a go—and with the same happy band of practitioners, no less.
Instead of a Mason’s handshake or the furtive double glance of pre-Stonewall Temperamentals, an evangelical glint in the eye helped me recognize these cultists. Their faces would take on a beatific cast when I raised the subject, and in reverent tones they evoked otherworldly pleasures beyond the ken of ordinary mortals. And now I was about to be abducted into this bitchin’ netherworld of tubes, lips, and barrels.
